Earthcaching is the Science of Exploring NatureEarthcaching is the Science of Exploring Nature (EarthCaching & EarthCaches) Earthcaching is the Science of Exploring Nature while learning about geoscience features of the Earth. Earthcaching is a form of Geocaching that allows visitors to explore nature while learning practical lessons about earth science.

Earthcaches are natural caches that provide the visitor who finds them with new knowledge or insights about the location itself. Unlike in Geocaching, participants do not travel to sites in search of a physical object placed there by others. Instead, the purpose of Earthcaching is to learn about minerals, fossils, and geoscience features by viewing them first hand.

Earthcaching enables a more specific understanding of earth science by exposing visitors to geological features such as volcanic and glacial formations, caves, mineral deposits, and fossils.
